Wingspan, Ltd: Overview

Wingspan, Ltd: offers experiences to add depth to one's understanding of self, of others, and of the world around them. Together, this increased understanding broadens one's personal foundation and increases the ability to function effectively in the day-to-day world. The effect of this is called worldliness, or simply, depth. If one is in a leadership role, continually gaining worldliness is essential in effectively leading others and envisioning the future.

This informal sketch is used in classes to show people how gaining worldliness/depth helps them.

The idea is that each person operates from a base of experiences. The more experiences we have, the "bigger" our foundation and the more expert we become at operating.

: How does sitting on the edge of the Grand Canyon or walking the cobblestone streets of Osnabrück, Germany help one be a better Human Resources Director, a better President, a better CEO? These positions are examples of assignments that require the ability to thoughtfully and effectively LEAD; they require VISION. Those requirements can be filled only from a person who operates from an ever-increasing foundation, an open perspective.

Immersion in new ideas, places, and people increases the foundation from which we operate. Wingspan fosters this immersion to help those with leadership responsibilities become increasingly effective. By participating in challenging situations that are not threatening, people can grow.
Options: Events can be planned to accommodate clients reasonably near their place of operations. Based upon location, Wingspan will arrange an event to fit the clients' travel needs as well as offer a positive experience from which participants will be able to increase their level of understanding of self, others, and the world.

Often, a relatively nearby location is the best first step toward gaining deeper understanding of worldliness; why it is necessary, and how to get it. These "closer-to-home" events are an excellent beginning for persons assigned at any level. Without too much travel time, participants can be exposed to any number of experiences that will help them both understand what worldliness is all about, as well as actually place them on the path of achieving it. When those who are assigned to higher levels of leadership are ready for more distance, these nearby experiences remain an excellent option for individuals assigned to smaller leadership roles.

More Options: Wingspan Ltd. offers a wide variety of experiences. In the past, people have enjoyed picking their own tree-ripened citrus and tomatoes in rural Florida in the winter season of the Northern US; felt the wondrous emptiness of the remote west where there are stretches of nearly 200 miles between services; sat without crowds on the very edge of the Grand Canyon; explored Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula; and traveled in Australia. Clients have a choice and can participate in the custom design of an event for their associates.
